Nelli Babayan is a PhD candidate at the School of International Studies, University of Trento, Italy, and co-editor of the graduate journal Interdisciplinary Political Studies (IdPS). In 2010, she was a visiting researcher at the Centre for International and Comparative Studies, ETH Zurich, and at FRIDE in Madrid.
She has an MA in Political Science from the Central European University, Hungary, and an Honours Diploma from Yerevan State Linguistic University, Armenia. Her research focuses on EU and US foreign policies, democracy promotion, and politics of post-communist states. Some of her publications include ‘Il Buono, il Brutto, il Cattivo? Assessing the Imperialist Ambitions of the European Union, Russian Federation and the United States of America’ (with S. Braghiroli, Central European Journal of International and Security Studies 5/2, 2011); ‘Now, Who Answers the Phone in Europe?
